A #mitsubishi dealership in Bridgend decked an #l200 pick-up with special Christmas images to ensure that Santa arrived in style at a garden centre grotto.

Nathaniel Cars commissioned decals showing reindeer and a sleigh to adorn one of the award-winning new Series 5 models for Father Christmas as he started his weekend stints at the nearby Pyle Garden Centre accompanied by his elves.

Some 2,000 people turned out for the family day event, which also saw appearances from a local dance group plus characters from the pantomime Beauty and the Beast, being staged at Porthcawl.

Nathan Griffiths, Sales Manager at the David Street showroom, said: ‘We were delighted to do this because Santa is, of course, a very important person, so it was very important that he made a grand entrance, and it was wonderful to see the look of joy on children’s faces when he arrived in the #l200.’

Mike James, Director at the garden centre, said: ‘The #l200 looked really good. We’ve had things like buses and horses and carts before for Santa’s arrival, but we were looking for something different so we spoke to Nathaniel Cars about it and they certainly went the extra mile for Santa and us. It went really well and was a lot of fun, and we hope to work with them again in the future.’

With its fantastic all-terrain driving capability matched with superb power and performance, the #mitsubishi #l200 is a four-wheeled workmate like no other. The Series 5 was named Best Pick-Up 2015 by judges at Auto Express – the UK’s top automobile weekly – in July ahead of its #uk launch, where it received widespread praise from the motoring press. It was also named Light Commercial Vehicle of the Year and Pick-up of the Year at the 2015 What Van? Awards this month.

Inheriting the DNA of its predecessors and taking the pick-up concept even further, it’s an entirely new vehicle from the ground up, with significant improvements in 330 areas. The Series 5 is more fuel-efficient than before, with a combined 42.9mpg, and emits just 169g/km of CO2. It has a turning radius of 5.9m and can carry and tow a combined 4.1 tonnes, outshining similar vehicles from other manufacturers.
